When to wash a house on the West Bank

In a lot of the country exterior cleaning is a spring job because everything is frozen the rest of the year. That is not the situation here. Around Gretna the work runs nearly year round, which raises a different question: when is the right time, and how often.
Any month that is not storming
The practical constraint is rain on the day, not the season. Mild stretches in late fall and winter are genuinely good washing weather, and they are usually easier to book because most people are not thinking about it.
How often a house here needs it
Most homes want a wash every one to two years. Shaded houses under live oaks, and anything on the north facing side of a lot, run toward the shorter end. If you can see green creeping up the base of the wall or dark streaking on the north slope of the roof, the interval has already passed.
Where waiting costs money
Growth that sits long enough works into mortar joints, gets under paint edges, and holds moisture against wood trim. Cleaning it is routine. Replacing rotted trim is not. The wash is the cheap end of that sequence.
One useful habit
Walk the north and shaded sides of your house twice a year and look at the bottom three feet of wall. That is where it always starts, and it is the earliest honest signal that it is time.
